I can tell

I can tell that this story interests a LOT of people, probably for different reasons. So far today over 600 people have visited this blog, 4000 people since the trial started. That's a lot considering this is a local cold case murder that is over 20 years old.

Thankfully, thank every and any God or devine spirit you believe in, Jean James is now in jail! Some justice for Gladys and her family. They have been so very patient, and trusting - in a system that failed them initially.

Who am I and why do I have a blog about this murder, and moreso this crazy woman, Jean Ann James? Will this blog die out and end now that Jean James has gone to jail for a murder she committed 20 years ago?

No. The is so much more to this story!! Her story.

I can tell you I have known about this murder since almost day one.
I can tell you I have been in the company of Derek and Jean James - no, I am not friendly with them.
I can tell you that there is so much more I can not tell you... Yet.

I have no intention of dragging Gladys Wakabayashi's name throughout the mud - or make constant reference to her rich father, like the papers felt they needed to do, as though that was the only validation stamp on her life - she suffered a fate that was not hers to suffer.

I want to tell you of a woman so evil that she regularly did wrong and created a life that was built on deceit.

Let's remember, the bulk of the information given at trial was referring to the sting that caused her to be recorded confessing. Very little information was given regarding the actual crime or the weeks, months and years before and after the murder.

I bet Derek James is sleeping better tonight than he has in 20 years. No presents from Jean to worry about.

  2. No wonder Derek James had so many affairs, any man would being married to the crazy Jean Ann James! She's a raving lunatic. He probably couldn't divorce her either for fear of being murdered as well. I wonder what his life was like this whole time after the murder - if he knew, or was too scared to speak out.

  3. The fact that the victim was a heiress helps this case. Our justice system and our law-makers are aware that if they allow this cold case to die with no justice being performed, rich and wealthy people from around the world will shun this place like a plague.

Racism is one thing. Racism plus injustice to a visible minority is a double-edged sword, when this country depends so much on international migration, especially the wealthy ones.

btw you ought to consult someone on how to put a "TM" or "copyright" on your writing. So no movie directors or writers are allowed to steal your material.

Good luck with your creative project. :)

  4. This story is far from over but hopefully justice has actually been done.
I don't know this woman but she certainly presented a picture of a cold, calculating, social wannabe climber who probably never did have a moral compass. It's too bad that Dr. Hare has retired (a UBC psychiatrist specializing in sociopaths whose work is recognized world-wide).

It is a shame that she didn't have to pay a price for the damage she has done a lot sooner. I wouldn't think that she will care for prison and her true colours will be very obvious to staff.

I didn't ever see anything about her husband or son attending court.

  6. Regarding the various comments about Jean and Derek James .Question were you one of the many freeloaders that attended their various parties eating their food ,drinking their wine?
Derek was no angel in this tragedy.Having witnessed incidents in the time I was friends with them their marriage was tumultous.I am not defending Jean for this horrific crime but Jean James was a healer and has a knowledge base of natural healing second to none and shared that info to anyone that asked. I am a breast cancer survivor and openly credit her for saving my life. I did not know her before the murder and our friendeship ceased in 2oo1.

Jean "MacBeth" was washing the blood from her hands by doling out craps to whoever that could lessen her guilt.

Sure Derek was no angel, he continued to live with a murderess for the following 18-19years. He must have feared for his life.

Why was your friendship with her "ceased in 2oo1"? She threatened you with a boxcutter huh?

  8. She is the ugliest thing I have ever seen, from inside out. To the Breast cancer survivor: you are lucky you are alive. This woman used to go around pretending to help sick people and took their valuables

  9. So when are you going to tell us "so much more to this story?"

  10. She was a cold, calculating woman who would do anything to furthur her own ends, or that of her son, not anyone else's. She stole the trees being planted in a new developement in her neighbourhood! Her friend lived with her for a few months and she got her son to steal her computer from the car as she was moving out! Her son's girlfriend was living with them, and when the girlfriend broke up with him, Jean urged him to steal all her things of value and pretend not to know anything about it. I will not say that she is evil incarnate, but she'd certainly give the devil a run for his money.
